Stop, Listen, Look

"There's no doubt you have problems to overcome. But God is there with you to overcome that obstacle."

To pursue intimacy with God, we must make it a habit to stop, to listen and to look.

8 I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
11 You will make known to me the path, of life. In Your presence is fullness of joy, in Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalm 16:8-9,11

Most of us run to escape problems and obligations. Some run away into isolation and thus fall prey to Satan's most potent weapon to disengage us from our fellowship with God. Others run aimlessly as chasing after the wind. If we keep running without stopping, we will soon burn out.

Jesus invites us to stop and come with Him into a quiet place to rest

"Then, because so many people were coming and going tat they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, "Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31)

In Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Also in Psalm 127:1-2, "Jesus is the center and the source of our rest. If the Lord is not the center of everything we do, then our labor is in vain."

In Psalm 45:5, "Stop so you can listen to yourself. Whatever you say reveals your heart." Listening to your own voice enable you t discover your blind spots and clarify your issues. It simplifies your life and enable you to pay attention to areas within your control, to let go and let God.

Stop so you can listen to the gentle whisper of God speaking to your heart. In His small still voice, God may encourage you, redirect you or even rebuke you, in any case, it will be what you need to hear from God at the moment.

God determines our beginning and end. Until His specific agenda with us has been completed, we will have the privilege of being a part of His work on earth. But we need to remember that God can fulfill His plans with our without us; He has chosen us to have the privilege to be His workmanship through Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared for us in advance to do so.

God wants you to stop, to listen and to look at the big picture. He has amazing plans beyond our comprehension and beyond your lifetime, yet He purposely chose you to be part of. Therefore you shall not be shaken, your heart wil be glad, your tongue rejoices and your body rests secure, because God is right before you..
